In an 1898 picture book entitled Kachō Gafu (i.e., Picture Album of Flowers and Birds) Ginkō included the nineteen pictures shown in this gallery. Click on a picture to enlarge it. Both Ginkō’s method of drawing flowers and birds and his picture compositions indicate that he was strongly influenced by the flower-and-bird art of Bairei Kōno who was a leading Japanese flower-and-bird artist during the late 1800s.
